What Is ForReal Conversation Analysis and How Do You Use It?
Full guide: why to analyze texts with your crush, what the AI dating coach reviews, how to run analysis in ForReal, WhatsApp, and Telegram, plus copy-and-export steps for major chat apps.

ForReal conversation analysis is how our AI dating coach reads a thread between you and someone you care about, pulls out signals and patterns (not just vibes), and helps you take grounded next steps toward a clearer relationship. Many people still do not know the feature exists, so this guide answers why to analyze those chats, what the coach looks at, how to get text out of the apps you use, how to run analysis (messenger, in-app, or upload), and how it fits your bigger story in the app.
A fair warning: chat apps change their buttons often. If a label differs, look for the same idea (copy, forward, export, share).
We also keep product truth in view: ForReal is a private AI dating coach and a relationship home in the app (Timeline, Connection Insights, ForReal Interest Level), not a single-purpose “chat screener.” Conversation analysis is one powerful input into that larger loop, on par with the guidance in how an app can help you win your crush.
Why analyze the conversation between you and your crush
Most early romance now lives in messages. The same person can sound warm in person, patchy in replies, and generous with memes a week later, so a single line rarely tells the full story, which is also why we pair analysis with your timeline and patterns over time (see texting patterns and mixed signals).
Conversation analysis helps you in four practical ways.
1. You separate signal from noise. You stop replaying the same two bubbles at 1 a.m. and get a calmer read of tone, effort, and momentum.
2. You see your own part. Balance, tone, and initiation matter for both people; analysis can reflect that without turning it into a blame game.
3. You get language for the talking stage. If you are in a talking stage or unsure if they are flirting or just friendly, structured insight is easier to act on than pure rumination (also related: overthinking in dating).
4. You move from guessing to a plan. The point is not to over-read every message. It is to combine evidence from the thread with what you have logged about feelings, actions, and moments in the app, so the next step (space, a direct ask, a boundary) fits your real situation.
Privacy, briefly: ForReal treats your pasted or uploaded raw chat as processing-only; derived insights and structured entries are what stay in your private profile, consistent with the privacy model described in how ForReal helps you with your crush.
What the ForReal AI coach reviews in a conversation analysis
The coach works from the real messages you send, in the same spirit as the in-app Analysis view. Labels can vary by flow and length, but the read usually groups into the areas in the cards below. Skim the card titles first, then read in order for the full story.
Thread snapshot and effort
1. A short summary of what the thread is actually doing, not a vibe read.
2. Response time and who sets the pace of replies.
3. Message balance and who is carrying the work.
4. A conversation summary so the main arc sits on one page with the details.
Emotion, style, and investment
1. Emotional patterns and emotional tone.
2. Communication style in how you both show up in text.
3. Engagement and investment in the connection.
4. Vulnerability and reciprocity (is care even on both sides?).
5. Romantic signals the thread supports, challenges, or leaves unclear.
Subtext and your next line
1. Hidden meanings many people re-read: tentative vs. direct interest, deflection, humor as distance, and similar moves.
2. Communication tips you can use in a real follow-up message or in-person, not a script to hide behind.
Framing, so the read stays fair
1. This is a coaching and reflection tool, not a legal verdict on someone’s heart.
2. Weigh the output next to the rest of your story: a bad day, a busy week, slow replies when life is busy, in-person time, and what you already know you need. Do not use one run as a life sentence for the whole person.
Why it is stronger on your journey in the app
1. The output pairs best with the same journey you already track: ForReal Interest Level and Connection Insights in the app.
2. In practice you want direction over weeks, not a single snap judgment from a single export.
How to get conversation text from each chat app
Quick jump: WhatsApp · Telegram · Discord · KakaoTalk · LINE · Meta Messenger · Signal · Snapchat · Viber · WeChat · Zalo
UIs differ by phone, OS, and app version. In this section, each card uses the same notation: A, B, C (and D in Meta only) are separate paths; 1, 2, 3 are steps inside a path, not the same level as the letters, some apps use A and B only, others go through C, Meta has A to D. If a label does not match, search the app’s help for Copy, Forward, Select, or Export.
When the text is ready, run Analyze conversation on Home in the app, or paste to your linked coach in WhatsApp or Telegram (the next section, Three ways to run conversation analysis with ForReal, explains those paths in full).
A. Copy a few lines for the ForReal coach
1. Open the thread.
2. Long-press a message, tap Forward in the menu.
3. Select the messages you need.
4. Copy the text (often Share → Copy on the Forward screen; labels vary by version).
5. Open your ForReal coach in WhatsApp and paste the text.
B. If the Forward flow does not show a copy action, do this
1. Forward the same messages to your ForReal coach thread.
2. Open that thread.
3. Long-press the forwarded block, Copy the text, and paste it in the same chat.
C. Export a full thread (no media) as a .txt
1. Open the thread, tap the name at the top.
2. Export chat → Without media.
3. Unzip the .zip and open the .txt file.
4. In the app, upload the file from Analyze conversation.
Telegram
A. Select, share, and copy
1. Long-press a message, tap Select in the menu.
2. Tap the messages you want.
3. Tap Share, then Copy (order can vary by version).
4. Paste to your ForReal coach in Telegram or into the app.
B. Fast path (optional)
1. Forward the selection to your ForReal coach thread.
2. Long-press the block, Copy the text, and paste it in the same thread.
Discord
A. In the app on a phone
1. Long-press a message, or use select (the exact name depends on your Discord client) so you can choose text.
2. Tap Copy.
3. Repeat the same pattern in chunks until you have the part of the DM you want, or use range / multi-select if your build shows it for that channel type.
B. On a computer (very long DMs)
1. Open the desktop app or web in a browser, when you are allowed to, then select and copy a larger run of the thread in one go.
2. Paste into a notes file, then into the app or your coach, if you still want that much text.
C. Third-party export tools (optional, risky)
1. You may see local tools that ask for a server token or login. They carry real risk, so do not use them unless you fully trust the tool, and never share a token with another person. When in doubt, stay with Copy in small chunks and screenshots instead, and run analysis on a shorter, honest window on purpose.
2. Paste or upload the text or images the same way you do for the other cards in this article.
KakaoTalk
A. Export to a file, if the app offers it (wording and region vary)
1. Open the chat.
2. Open chat room settings (wrench/gear) at the top area.
3. Tap Export messages if you see it.
4. Send the .txt by email to yourself or save to files, then open the file, Copy the text, or upload the .txt in the app.
B. If you do not see export on your build
1. Long-press lines and Copy in parts, or use screenshots and upload the images in the app.
LINE
A. Export, if you see it in your year and app version (labels vary by locale)
1. Open the chat, then the header name or the ⋮ menu.
2. Find Export or export chat.
3. Open the file you get (JSON or CSV in some builds) in a text viewer, copy the part you need, or save a cleaned .txt and upload it in the app.
B. If you do not see export
1. Use Select messages to Copy a slice, or use screenshots for a short segment, then upload the images. Check LINE Help for the label map on your current version if menus have moved.
Meta Messenger (Facebook Messenger)
A. Copy a single line
1. Long-press a message, then tap Copy if that is the only line you need.
B. Copy several lines (when the build allows)
1. Long-press a message, then choose Select or More to pick multiple messages.
2. Tap Copy or Forward to move the text where you can grab it, then open that place and Copy the cluster.
C. A longer stretch in your own thread
1. Forward a stretch to message yourself (your own small thread), then open that thread and Copy the block.
D. Very long history (no full thread export in Messenger like WhatsApp)
1. Use screenshots of the parts that matter, then add them in the app as images.
Signal
A. In the app on a phone
1. Long-press a message, then choose Copy for one line, or a small set of lines if your build allows it.
2. Repeat in chunks if you need more of a long thread, so you are not over-promising a full archive the model did not get.
B. On a computer (Signal Desktop)
1. Install and open Signal Desktop and sign in with the care your security rules require, then use select and copy to capture more text in one pass when that is the right move for you.
2. Paste that text from your notes into the app or your coach.
C. Screenshots (no full cloud export in Signal by design)
1. Take a short set of screenshots of the thread if that is what you can safely share, then add them on the image path in the app, knowing you are trading total coverage for a shorter, honest read.
Snapchat
A. If the chat is not being saved, fix that first (optional, but you need text to last)
1. Know that un-saved one-on-one text can disappear after it is read.
2. Turn on 24-hour chat and/or save individual messages, only when you and the other person are comfortable, if you use Snapchat a lot for flirting.
B. Copy or screenshot to ForReal
1. Long-press a saved line, then tap Copy if the app offers it.
2. If Copy is not there, take a screenshot of the saved segment (be careful what is in frame for privacy), then use image upload in the app. Short threads are still fine for a snapshot analysis.
Viber
A. Chat-level export, if the app has it (depends on version)
1. Open the chat.
2. Open the top ⋮ or Info area.
3. Look for Email messages or an export item, then follow that flow.
B. If you only have per-bubble copy
1. Copy each part you need into Notes or a draft.
2. Paste the combined text once into the app. Use screenshots when the screen is too dense to read.
A. Select, Add to Email, then copy the text (labels vary by language and version)
1. In the thread, long-press a message, then tap Select to pick the part you need.
2. Tap ⋯ (more) at the bottom, then Add to Email.
3. In the email draft that opens, select the text and Copy it.
4. Paste the text to the ForReal coach in WhatsApp or Telegram, or into the app, or start Analyze conversation on Home in the app.
B. If the mail flow never opens
1. Copy per message in smaller batches, or use screenshots and image upload in the app instead.
Zalo
A. Select clusters, copy, and paste
1. Long-press a message, then look for Copy or a multi-select mode that your build offers.
2. Select clusters of lines, Copy them, and repeat until you have the segment you need.
3. Paste into the app, or into your coach, as you have set it up.
B. Very long history
1. Use scrolling screenshots (if your phone allows) and upload the images, or type a short, representative slice by hand for paste.
Three ways to run conversation analysis with ForReal
These all use the same dating coach; pick the path that fits. If you are asked for a name, use the other person’s display name as it appears in the thread. WhatsApp and Telegram use the coach you linked in Settings → Chat Apps.
1. Linked coach in WhatsApp or Telegram
1. In onboarding or Settings → Chat Apps, link WhatsApp and/or Telegram (if you have not already).
2. Open your ForReal coach thread in that app.
3. Paste the conversation (or text from an export) and run analysis.
2. In-app coach
1. Open the ForReal app.
2. Open the coach.
3. Paste a thread, add a short line of context, then run analysis.
3. Analyze conversation on Home (paste, .txt, screenshots)
1. Home → Analyze conversation.
2. Paste text, upload a .txt, and/or add screenshots (OCR), then submit.
Shortcut: system share sheet → ForReal (same in any chat app)
1. In your chat app (WhatsApp, Telegram, or another app in this article), select the messages you want, then tap Share to open your phone’s native share sheet.
2. Tap ForReal on the sheet (or Open in ForReal, depending on your OS). If it is not in the first row, tap More (or Edit / ⋯), add ForReal to the share row, then tap ForReal.
From this thread to your full relationship home in ForReal
Analysis is a lens on the thread, not the whole relationship. Re-run it when the conversation has clearly shifted, and use Connection Insights and the ForReal Interest Level for that person as a trend, not a single score from one export.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is conversation analysis the same as a guarantee about how my crush feels?
No. It is a structured read of the messages you provide, plus the relationship context the coach already has, to suggest patterns and next steps. People have context you cannot see; use analysis as a compass, not a court ruling.
Do I have to use WhatsApp or Telegram?
No. You can do everything in the ForReal app (paste, .txt upload, screenshots) if you do not use messengers, or you can link messengers when you set up your account (or later from Settings → Chat Apps) if you want the coach where you already chat.
Why can’t I find “Export chat” in my chat app?
Not every app offers a one-tap export. Use Copy in batches, forward to self, or screenshots for the segment that matters. A shorter, honest sample is better than a perfect export you never send.
Will ForReal store my full chat forever?
We process your pasted or uploaded raw content to build insights, then follow the process-and-delete model described in our product and privacy copy. What stays is the insight and structured memory, not an endless retrievable log of the raw screen.
What if the other person is on an app I did not list here?
If you can get any selectable text, email export, or clear screenshots, you can use ForReal. If you cannot, log a feeling or a moment in the app and ask the coach in words. Sometimes narrative context is the best you have that week.
Does analysis replace therapy or friends?
No. It complements good judgment, honest friends, and professional support if you are stuck in anxiety or a harmful dynamic. If you are unsafe, prioritize safety and local resources, not a score.
ForReal conversation analysis is for anyone who is tired of rereading the same thread in silence. You now have the why (clarity, balance, and next moves with less spin), the what (summary, timing, investment, emotional patterns, and practical tips), the how (coach in WhatsApp/Telegram, in-app coach, or paste, .txt, and screenshots in the app), and a per-app map for the messengers people actually use. Treat each run as one layer of evidence, pair it with your Connection Insights and ForReal Interest Level over time, and keep the human story in the room.
